BENCH ( 01 )
The BENCH ( 01 ) extends the conceptual language of the collection into a shared, horizontal form. Its elongated structure highlights rhythm, repetition, and variation within the burnt surfaces, allowing the interaction between ash and oak to unfold across a larger scale. The burning process introduces unpredictability, making each section unique while contributing to a cohesive whole.
As a communal object, the bench embodies the idea of renewal through transformation. The traces of fire — charred edges, fissures, and tonal shifts — speak of destruction as a prerequisite for construction. Both grounding and expressive, the bench invites collective use while maintaining a strong sculptural presence.
